Can I reuse a privacy fence post
Hello, We are fixing a part of our privace fence and where it needs
fixed, we need a post. Can we reuse an already used post that has concrete
still on it?Thanks!
if no rot on it ok but make sure it is not infested by sticking
sharp knife in if goes in easy replace if not go ahead and reuse
Yes you can, long as the post itself isn't rotted. You will
have to dig a bigger hole of course, to get it out.Cause the cement is
still on it. It will take a couple people to pull it up cause of the
cement. When you set it back into the hole again..fill it first with dirt
& then pour some water on top of the dirt while ur packing it back
in..then sprinkle more dirt & more water..That way it will clinch the dirt
back down into the foundation, & make it more tight. But while doing that make sure its VERY straight. You can make sure by putting a temporary board on each side of the existing fence.Place temp nails into the boards. Not tight, this is just to brace it in the level upright position while you fill the dirt. Not hard to do.
If there is nothing wrong with the post. You will need some new
concrete.
